Synopsis Letting agent refusing to repay deposit even though instructed to by landlord (their cleint) Landlord did not want to continue our tenancy as he had problems with what described as agents mismanagement we now rent directly from Landlord. Agency are to defend all of our claim for the return of our funds, no rent payments missed no damage to outstanding bills. W are at a loss to understand how they can defend or are we missing somrething ???? Representing ourselves.

Doesn't sound as if you are missing anything. Seems they are just being bloody minded. Hope they're not going down the pan and are just stalling.

Make sure you have all the evidence of payment, the amount etc. Also, confirmation from the landlord that there are no dilapidations and that he has instructed them to return the deposit. If you can, get the landlord to come and say this in Court as a witness. This will all help you at Court.
