yes thanx to all u guys at answerbank for telling me it didnt hurt lol i got it done yesterday. im sooo proud of myself although my git of a best mate laughed coz i dont like needles n was making sum strange noise wen he pout it near my face eyes where shut throughtout the whole thing thou =D. its just a plain silver bar which is kool by me. my tongeu is fat as anything now tho n im living off water and yogarts wot else can i eat that wont hurt me? come any advice . I CANT BELIEVE I GOT :D

Hey you brave thing!! A girl I work with got hers done a couple of weeks back and she was living off ice cream!! At least its a good excuse to eat a load of rubbish for a few days!!!!

Hi ya ive got 3 bars in my tongue and all i did was drink plently of vodka. It did numb the pain and i was able to eat chicken, sandwiches etc. i wouldnt advise drinking to everyone who has had the tongue pierced but in my case it did work. You could try taking some pain killers though i didnt. Also popping an ice cube on the tongue every half an hour helps too (did that for days), by the 5-7th day you should feel better and when you get the smaller bar fitted you wont feel a thing. Yer my mates eat for a bit, just make sure you don�t get any bits stuck that might cause infection and clean it well. Vehelpful guy I�m sure it is up to her and is no different than getting a top you�ve liked for ages, she can take it out and it�s not permanent. Me myself wouldn�t get one done as where I come from tongue piercing are for one thing and get called a lezzer :-)

Use a non-alcohol mouthwash to rinse your mouth otherwise it could irritate it. Listerine has alcohol in so I'd avoid that. You could clean it with saltwater too which might be better. Doesn't taste very nice though! Don't put too much salt in though.
I got my tongue pierced about 9 years ago and I've never had any problems with it and forget it's there now. The pain and swelling doesn't last long really. It'll be gone before youknow it.

I knew that having a tongue ring can impair one's ability to talk properly, although I didn't realise that it also impairs one's ability to type.

My sister got hers done recently.... her guy advised that the healing process will be improved if you eat loads of ice lollies as reduces swelling. Iceland do those ice pole things... pack of those costs about a quid and you get zillions. You have to have as many as you can possibly stand in a day but it did work and the swelling went down really quickly.

ignore all the judgemental types you get on here pompom. if you like it good for you. and unlike tatoos you can make it vanish whenever you want.
all the cold stuff everyone has mentioned will help loads. i know it did when i had mine done. keep it clean and look after it and it shouldnt cause you any problems.
just always be careful with spaghetti!!
