Okay so I've supposedly been suffering with Osgoodschlatters disease for just about a year now, but I'mstarting to have doubts, because a lot of people I've seen from the same doctor have supposedly got this too, I've asked others, and they've said that my legs shouldn't be hurting as much as this. They ache all the time and I can't bend my left knee it's so bad, it has only just started with my right leg, but it's not in my knee, it feels a similar pain as it did when I broke my wrist, but it's really bad. It really annoys me because I've been diagnosed with Osgoodschlatters, given tablets for ARTHRITIS and I've been given Cocodamol, I'm just kinda going crazy. I spend most of my time with my leg up instead of in lessons because it hurts so bad... I'm jut confused because I have people telling me 'oh come on, it can't hurt that much' but then it does When I first found out from y doctor, he sent me up for an x-ray last October, and then I only just got the results of the x-ray back March this year Does anyone have any suggestions, I'd be really grateful

I thought that was something that happened during juvenile years, the tendons growing faster than muscle or something, the only cure for that as far as I know is rest, I would get a second opinion, how old are you and do you do a lot of sport ?

Yes I'm 15, I haven't been able to do sport for a long time, since junior school, my leg collapses underneath me and it just doesn't feel stable anymore, quite frankly, the more I try to rest it, the more it stiffens up and hurts even more, I have to have heat packs and cold packs alternately depending on the weather, cold in the cold, hot in the hot, on a night I have to sleep with something under my knee to support it otherwise the back muscles in my leg hurts like mad, and whenever I have it flat out, I have to have something underneath like a cushion or a bag or a jumper
I think you need to go back to the doctor, because osgoods does get better with rest, I have come across this a lot when running boys football teams, and rest is the cure, waiting for the body to catch up, I am not a DR but I really think you need this looked at again, good luck, Ray

Yeah, it is annoying, grr, our doctor wouldn't be so bad if he knew what he was doing, when I broke my arm I was walking around with my arm up my sleeve with a bright red face topped up on paracetamol for three days until we went back there for the THIRD time, and he finally agreed that it needed an x-ray.
But then again, he's left the practice and and we've had to be referred elsewhere so something might get done this time...
