Has anyone ever been to a fetish club?!

I'm really tempted to go to one with my boyfriend...the curiosity is just too great! If any of you have been, what's it like? Any tips? Are they only for weirdos?! This is a serious question but I invite a bit of comedy banter about the subject too!

Before you go to a fetish club, it might be an idea to visit one of the Fetish fairs(markets) where you can chat to stall holders and clubbers in your 'normal' clothes just to get an idea of the type of people you will meet at the clubs. You will be surprised how normal and pleasant most of them are and they will give you advice as to the most suitable clubs for your particular taste.

Pisceangirl, I would definitely recommend going if you're interested! I have been before with my boyfriend and other friends and it's great fun! It's not for weirdos! The one we've been to is Torture Garden (not as scary as it sounds!). You could try looking at their website?

There are varying degrees of the types of club, but Torture Garden isn't that extreme (depending on how open minded you are!) There is usually a 'couples room' where a lot of 'action' takes place...although nobody touches without permission and they are VERY strict about it. There's also usually a dungeon bit where there are racks etc to use. But it's only ever people who are up for it. People usually won't chat to you, they kind of stick to their own.
They have shows in the main areas, fashion shows, burlesque, cabaret, bondage and stuff thats a whole lot weirder...like when we went someone was piercing themselves! At the last one we went to there was a box that people could go in and do whatever...with holes in the side for people to peep in on you - no, I didn't go in!!
But it's mainly about the outfits. Not matter what you wear you will seem TAME compared to them! Have a look on the site to see what people wear. They are really strict on the dress code and don't let you in if you aren't dressed up enough. Costume might be harder for your bf than you (unless he has a stash of rubber pants??)

Obviously there are some clubs which are more extreme where people actually 'do' a whole lot more, but Torture Garden is basically like a normal club with people drinking dancing and chatting....but in fabulous clothes (or no clothes, depending!).

Thanks for everyone's advice & interesting comments...keep em coming! I've been to an expo before in Auckland (NZ- where I live now) & apparently they have a thing you go in with holes in it like someone mentioned....anyway, you can either be inside the tent-like structure or outside of it sticking your hands in and copping a "blind" feel...god knows what you'd grab though!!! Don't know it I'm into that but that's in Auckland city so I bet there's loads of other places around! It's all a bit taboo...that's what draws me to it I think...anything that's a bit naughty I'm SO curious about! ;)
