No I didn't misread it, but it might be a misprint. It's in the current Oldie magazine. I'm not getting on well, much prefer the Times jumbo cryptic.

Ha, now I've got a copy of the Xword, I can see that No3 does indeed say 'diesel car' (singular).

It does, however, definitely say 'seen'. Sorry Mamya. :)
