This is one of my all-time fave books (and Banks has written many great books) It has brilliant descriptions of rock excess, band rivalry and is just a cool, unputdownable book! Please do read it.
I have read the History of the World in 10 weeks and that is really really good.

Thanks Mabelcat
Naz - I'm a big Iain Banks fan..... this is one of my all time favourites too. Infact, think I might dig it out and read it again soon.
Mabel - is this your favourite Iain Banks??
Ditto - just re-read it a few weeks ago, thoroughly enjoyable, and definitely worth a re-read from time to time.
Well I enjoyed The Crow Road too but best of all was The Bridge and also Complicity. Wasp Factory was first one I read and remained a fave for ages but it can't really be re-read like Espedair Street.
lol Mabelcat - Wasp Factory was the first one I read, and I must admit, I have re-read it, tho obviously it loses it's intial Wow factor slightly. It was my favourite for ages, just cos of the impact it had on me at age 15 lol Complicity is probably my all time fave, tho I loved The Crow Road (my home area) too.
naz - let us know what you think? :o)

I'm gonna try and read it very soon ... you've all got me convinced.

Thanks everyone Կ
yea, you should give it a go... I, like Mabelcat and Kick3m0n read The Wasp Factory first, and loved it, then got hooked on lots of his books. Espedair St is great, as is The Bridge, and Complicity is a goodun also. Walking On Glass is good, but not quite as brilliant as the others.
And what do you lot make of Iain M Banks? I have tried and tried, but I don't think I'm very good at sci fi. Love Iain Banks though. Like everyone it was wasp factory first. I've got a whole load of his books now I'm going to have to dig them out of storage-thanks for reminding me!!!
Hiya teagirl.......I don't do sci-fi, so never read any Iain M Banks, just doesn't appeal to me.
