Hello. I struggled with some of this and, as ever, there are some answers where I’m not fully sure. Indeed the first one in my queries is simply because I can only think of two possible answers and I don’t understand the logic of either. May I try couple of clues please?

“Spin a single coin : watch once “I have ?u?n?p . So turnip and turnup both fit. But why for either? Or is there a third word?

“Strong support for entering exactly from the back. With the letters I have “ taproot” fits and that’s a a strong support. and pro is for. But the rest?

Please help

Turn 1P, spin a single coin... Turnip, old watch.
turn ip ( one penny)
a turnip was once a type of watch
Taproot - 'pro' (for, entering) 'to a T' (exactly, back)

Thank you both. The definition for turnip is new to me. So thanks for that. And the other one has me kicking myself for being daft. I kept trying to make “toat” into a single word! Thick? Or thick?
Thanks very much
