ebay payments - whats safest?

other than paypal, what is the second safest way to pay for ebay items?

i have been asked to send a cheque but i don't really want to do this, so what other options are there, that offer safety and a refund if it all goes wrong?

Hi Joko,

A cheque is safe if you cross it. A crossed cheque has to be payed into the account of the named person on the cheque.

Paypal funded by credit card is your safest means of payment, from a buyer's viewpoint.

Nothing else offers the chargeback protection (which is not always guaranteed by the way) that PayPal offers.

Cash is the very worst way to pay, especially by post.
