A friend of mine has a built-in satnav in his '03 mondeo. It gets data from a concealed dvd drive but, now that it needs updating, he can't find where the dvd drive is to change the dvd. Anyone know where it's fitted? He's tried the dealer where the car came from but looks like the prev owner had it fit elsewhere. It may be hidden in a standard place that a car elec/mech knows about ? thanks.

You don't say whether it's a factory fitted one or not?

Try under either front seat, try behind the glove box, try under the spare wheel in the boot and any side compartments either side of the boot - even try looking behind a panel to see if he's fitted it in a disused space for that model Failing all that look at the manual that came with the car.

Failing that get the Vehicle registration form and phone the previous owner, if he's not listed write to him. I'm very suprised that the dealer couldn't help though - I wouldn't be going back there !! Good Luck !!

Thanks for your answer, Ive just got in from work so was gonna put message here that he's found it! It is hidden below the first-aid box in the boot. It was the only place left to look after a few hours of headscratching. We're still not sure if it's factory but is a Ford marked system. Thanks again, cheers!
