I have had a very stressful pregnancy due to being high risk. The past few weeks i have been feeling more and more depressed and feel i am struggling to cope. I am 38 weeks pregnant now and have been in slow labour for 2 weeks now and am getting very tired and very very down. Will hospitals consider an induction before i am overdue, they do them at 38 weeks at mine if you pay them, so called social inductions, but do you know if hospitals do it ifthe mothers mental state is at risk?

awww boobs, im so sorry you're struggling chick :-(

Last few weeks are a nightmare eh? I can't offer any advise (sorry) I just wanted to say I'm thinking of you. Only thing I can think of is phone your midwife tomorrow morning?

God bless
xxxx
Hey boobs,
Can't believe you're still waiting :( I was going to mail you earlier on to see how it was all going but thought you'd prolly be at home by now with your little one.

I'd make an apt with the doctor tomorrow, tell them how down you're feeling, they might just be able to do something about it especially with you already being in labour.
look at it this way, they removed the stitch knowing you could go at any time so there's obviously no risk to the baby coming along now.

Take care sweetie xxx
I hope for your sake, Baby comes sooner rather than later, but I don't believe hospitals will induce early unless their is a risk to Mother or Baby. You could try a bit a nookie, supposedly the man's secretions have similar properties to the stuff used to induce labour and if not you can have some fun in the meantime!!!! Good luck honey x

I am seeing my midwife tomorrow and they are going to try and arrange the antenatal midwife to be there as they know my previous history, and if they feel i am not coping then they will induce.
Madham, nice idea but i am in too much pain with contractions, and i am not allowed todo rudies as i have lost my plug and there is an infection risk, typical eh after 8 months of not being allowed!
Awwwww boob :o(

Maybe the midwife will do a 'sweep' for you? mind you, I have heard that it can be a bit painful..so not sure you would want that! however, being in the same situation as you before I would say that anything will do as long as it gets you on your way (or baby on it's way ;o)

Good luck for tomorrow ~ you never know, it may be D Day at last xx

I was thinking of a sweep but they havent proved sucsessful among my friends in another forum, and i am such a wuss!
The councellor will hopefully sort something, if not my GP who knows exactly how i was when i had Post Natal Depression, so i hope to get something sorted tomorrow, nervous now though.
i had a sweep boobs, if you have to have that don't worry, it's not painful, more uncomfortable and embarrassing.

you'll be fine chick, keep your chin up

Thanks Patricia, i have to be seen every week as i am still classed as high risk, but they just checked my progress when i said i was in labour and confirmed i was, and no-one mentioned doing anything.
I am dreading tomorrow, its my angels birthday tomorrow and i dont think i will take it very well if they try and fob me off, i feel like an emotional wreck and guilty for feeling this way :-(
hi boobesque,

try having a nice hot curry and a big pineapple for pud - thay're supposed to help bring on your labour - maybe speed things up a bit
