Thank you K...just read jamspanners answer. There really is no hope for me!!! I did not even notice the hint...there isn't always one there. Anyway it is....All across solutions are composers whose name can be found from a letter mix spanning words within each clue, either beginning at the beginning of a word, or ending at the end of a word in the clue. e.g. ADJUST GEAR LEVER would give ELGAR.

So sorry for any trouble caused!!! ..and thanks again K and jamspanner....think I should give it up as a bad job!!!!

The clue is Soprano's narrow range (6) and it is an across clue.
Also...Acclaim Oscar Hammerstein (8)..also an across clue
