Thanks everyone had a laugh for a change.
I am not daft I know that she is lonely but it makes her bitter and then people stay away so she gets lonelier and more bitter etc etc.
However I have never been anything but respectful to her up until she told a room full of women I was infertile!
Even after then I have run around and sorted things out but after how she behaved 2 years ago I just wish she would drop dead

Sorry red, but it’s husbands responsibility., he can visit if he wishes you do not have to.. nor should he allow her to treat you like she has for years.

None here can understand exactly the relationship between RH, her OH and MIL. We can hypothesise or generalise as much as we wish but it is their business and I for one would not advise a happily married couple to feel forced to spend time apart for the sake of an over-bearing MIL.

Red, my mother in law was a pain and my dominating mother hated my husband. It really affected our relationship and I felt pulled in all directions. Also had a nasty troublemaker for a sister in law.

I am now a Mother in Law that stands back, doesn't get involved and never gives advice unless asked.
