think a unit is just a unit, no large or small depends on what you are drinking as to wether there are more or less per volume

i thought a 1 unit of beer was far bigger than 1 unit of brandy?
A unit of alcohol is a measure of alcohol, and not a measurement of the drink itself.
To work out the units of alcohol from any drink, multiply the declared %ABV (alcohol by volume) by the size of the measure in millilitres. Then divide the result by 1000.
By the way, one pint is 567 millilitres.
One unit of alcohol is 10ml (or 8mg), I believe.

So, in the form of pure ethanol, that would be the smallest measure possible.

For the biggest, you could dilute your chosen form of alcohol to as large a quantity as you want. EG add 1litre of water to a measure of whisky.
