how about a Dorling Kindersley space book - comes with a disc for the PC as well. just looked on e-bay for you and they go for a £1 + P&P
I know Ladybird used to do lots of books on space and stuff. Just checked their website but the only space-related one I could find is:-

Might be of help.

Thanks very much, munchie and jordie.
Instead of going for an astronomy books for a child ,you can consult a good astrologer to know the details of astronomy. For your information,if you want to know more details about astronomy kindly visit the following link http://www.astronumber.com/
It's probably out of print or hard to get at but I think I was introduced to astronomy through Sir Patrick Moore's The Sky at Night. I'm sure it's still excellent if you can get hold of a copy complete with star chart -- although more modern books may be better.
