In Prehistoric Park (the programme which has brilliant CGI dinosaurs) the dinosaurs make a lot of noise, roaring and suchlike. Did dinosaurs really make such a noise, or is it just for extra drama?

It's just that I think about lizards and such, and they don't make much noise, just hiss a bit occasionally.

Surely no-one can ever answer that question for certain as no one was there to hear (or not hear) them!
In some cases, the scientists can get a good idea of what they sounded like by analysing the shape of the skull etc. (especially the ones with a long nasal crest thingy). But mostly it is guesswork.

It's a bit like guessing what colour dinosaurs were - nobody knows, but it is reasobnable to guess that they were mostly green / brown / grey ish, and that some of them (the more birdy ones) might have had more colourful display bits.
most things seem to produce noise roughly in proportion to their size, so elephants are louder than men, men are louder than women and women are louder than lizards. They draw the obvious conclusions about big dinosaurs. But nobody knows, of course.
All guess work,no-one knows and despite wot the ,,,ahem,,,EXPERTS,say,,no do they!!
you mean the programme where the psychotic man pretends he can see dead animals? what messages is he sending to our kids.
Its just wrong.
Jurassic park took it quite far enough, this has gone too far.
Who is buying it?
