I use Twitter - I follow my local news, council, travel updates and police. I use it to complain to many companies and find I always get much faster results than phoning or emailing. It has worked with my electricity supplier, broadband, Tesco, even Amazon. They don't like complaints on their Twitter feed. I don't get in to debates with anyone and ignore most...

Not me

The only reason I went on was to contact B&Q many weeks ago as they weren’t answering calls, I’ve just deleted the app after looking in again
I've avoided it up until now, mainly because people who know about these things say it's even worse than Answerbank for confrontational BS and general madness.

Ah in that case I’m pleased I’ve deleted it Douglas :0(
I don't - but I'm thinking abut it. I don't use Facebook either.
Question Author
I use FB but got it on private settings with friends and family so there’s never anything confrontational on it
I decided to start using Twitter last year. I didn't actually get around to posting anything before I was advised that my account had been suspended. I have no idea how I managed that!

I gave up

How odd wolfie
I used twitter briefly for 2 or 3 months... it could be fairly entertaining, but was totally insane. I deleted it, as it ended up just stressing me.
Fb is controllable, you choose who to interact with.

Pixie I agree so does Twitter not have that function?
I think you can block people, if necessary? But, it's more a public site, than personalised.
I registered there many years ago, but hardly ever use it, once a month at most. Twitterati=Ignorati IMHO.

I found it handy for contacting B&Q I suppose but I went back earlier this morning to try to get in touch with Igloo my gas and electric supplier ( no joy but no surprise either), I pay £110 a month for gas and electric and I was nearly £300 in credit, that has dropped now to £177+ and yet my DD of £110 went in on the 1st of the month?
Question Author
I should of said, Igloo is one of those to have gone under

I don't get in to debates with anyone and ignore most posts. If you use it properly it can be very useful.
The DD may not have cleared yet, it can take up to 5 days to show on your account, even though charges are immediate.... Take a photo of your meter readings and when Ofgem appoint a new supplier for you they should confirm your current balance and go from there.

We’ve done that, thanks Chelle
