using / playing iso files

ok, I have Nero 7.0 ... a bunch of downloaded ISO files ( Software & Movies) ... and am running out of patience ... I thought I had burnt them to DVD but no files appear on the DVD when I "explore" ... and I dont know what to do to load the software once its on the DVD (do i just put it in the drive and let it autoplay ?) ... will the movies play from DVD if / when I get them there ... or can I somehow play them from the hard drive ... cheers peeps ...

If you have ISO files then these are images of DVD's / CD's. Within Nero there should be an option to burn disc from image. Try that. Or download something like Power ISO and you can mount the ISO image on a virtual drive.

thanks ... but you lose me when you talk about " mounting on a virtual drive " ... can you explain a bit further please ?
If you're using Nero 6.x or probably 7.x too, then click Recorder -> Burn Image, and choose the file you want to burn. Then insert either a CD or DVD, whatever the image was made for (it'll show in Nero).

Or, to save you having to burn a new disc every time, you can create a virtual DVD drive that acts just like your current disc drive, but isn't really there. One program that does this is daemon tools:
