Moths navigate by the Moon, which is why they are attracted to lights, eg, a Moth thinks an electric light is the Moon, which is why they double back to it as the light fades.

Don't forget, Moths were around before electricity, and can't tell the difference between natural and man made lights.

I know this is a bit more than you asked for, but I hope its ok.
