I'm sure the procedure has been thoroughly explained by your physician, but check here:

Having never experienced this procedure, I can't speak to its discomfort level...

Not really...they might put you under a light general anaesthetic ...when you wake up you will feel a little discomfort (or perhaps none at all ) but may be groggy from the anaesthetic....sometimes they will just put some anaesthesic gel down the thru the urethra thru the top of the penis and wait for about 15 minutes for it to take and then put in the cably thingy with the camera on and have a look around.... Shouldn't take more than 20 minutes.... if its just to have a look around in there shouldn't be much pain ....but if they want to widen or cut you might experience some pain but nothing a couple of panadol wont fix.....by the way lots of men have these done.....its an outpatient thing.

I see them performed often(I work in the Op Theatre).  You will almost certainly not have a general anaesthetic(I've not seen one yet for a flexible cystoscopy).  A little local anaesthetic jelly will be squirted down your urethra which will take effect quickly.  The scope will then be inserted.  You should feel nothing more than mild discomfort for a minute or two and the whole procedure will probably last no more than 10 minutes.

It's a routine procedure and you need not worry.

I`m having one in 2 weeks not so much worried about pain but the holding in of a litre of water ,i worry i`ll pee all over the doctor when he inserts the camera
Don`t know if you`ve had it yet i had mine last week , no anaesthetic apart from local gel , completely painless
