Android is a operating system used for some more basic smartphones and tablets . I think its differenet to iphone op system for Apple products.

Android is also the operating system on some very expensive, high end smartphones and tablets. An alternative to Microsoft Windows and Apple.

i think you have a fire tablet JJ - that does not use android per se. On a desktop comp, you dont have android either. do you have a smart phone? if not, dont worry

and even if you do, still don't worry! you dont have to join anything, you either have it as your operating system, or you have something else

The Fire tablets uses their own version of Android, it is still Android, just not Google's version

Unless you have an iPhone or iPad then the vast majority of phones and tablets use the Android operating system and it certainly isn't basic.

Android is also used as the operating system on some very expensive TV's. My 2.5K Sony uses it for instance.
