If this IS for theatre, remember that less is more. 99% of the audience will know you're not Welsh so don't aim for a perfect accent - just amend your vowel sounds, rhythm and intonation to 'suggest' Welsh. Otherwise it may end up getting in the way of the text and dominating your character.

Welsh is a tough one and can veer into the Indian sub-continent if you're not careful!
