What is all this about the BBC and the Diana interview. Are they saying if she had not been lie to then she would not have said what she said .

the BBC's rivals in the media world aren't, though.
I bet not.
Whether or not it contributed to her death we have a right to be able to trust the integrity of the BBC employees, from the reporters to those in high office. That is what the scandal is really here. Why are we paying a licence fee for what has been revealed to be a culture of fraud, deceit and downright lies?
Bashir deserves the Dyson dose
Sry I meant the Derby dose
a culture of fraud, deceit and downright lies

one rogue reporter and a lazy boss is not a "culture"
Will they still lay a Reith on the anniversary?
I think it was more than one lazy boss...and I'd call Bashir more than a rogue. His plan and actions seem to me to be pychopathic. I was thinking about this today and I think what Bashirs thoroughly nasty behaviour did was to shut out any possibility of Diana remaining on good terms with the Royal family, which in turn led to her self destructive behaviour. Yes it would never have happened if Prince carles hadn't been led to believe that he should have a virgin bride and that he could have a mistress while he was married, but Bashir coldly took a bad situation and made it worse for his own ends.
Yesterday, Harry was blaming this interview for the death of his mother, today he is saying her death was caused because she was with a 'man of colour'. It seems to me they are always trying to blame someone for something. I am no way sticking up for Martin Bashir, but he is a journalist/reporter/interviewer/ and a lot of them will go to underhand tactics to get the interview they are after. At the end of the day, Diana decided to give that interview, she didn't have her arm up her back.
Tambo, wasn't a Derby Dose a form of slave torture? I agree he was duplicitous in the extreme, but that sounds a little extreme!
Yes Mozz, Derby's dose was particularly nasty.
Her brother seems to have been very naive in accepting what Bashir presented him with and said, without looking for some verification. If I recall he and their mother were estranged from Diana, he had refused to allow her to live on the Althrop estate.
Harry can now carry on with his whinge-fest for many years to come, the gift that keeps on giving.
I always thought she just relished the opportunity to stick it to Charles and would have given the interview to anybody who asked her anyway...the woman scorned.
Zebo //Harry can now carry on with his whinge-fest for many years to come, the gift that keeps on giving.//
I hope not, it really is getting very tiring now.
Mozz, Bashir suggested a derby dose for Sarah Palin - if its ok for her then its perfect for him; long term!
Ah, fair enough Tambo, wasn't aware of that. As you were ☺
