If Twix is prounounced TWICKS why is it not a Grand Pricks rather than PREE

Because it's from the French word for prize and we have retained the French pronunciation . . .
Grand Prix is (I believe) French for 'Grand Prize'. Being French it is pronounced 'Pree' (I don't know why because I've never travelled to 'Paree' but there ya go!). I've always believed that Twix takes it's name from something you can eat between (betwixt) meals. Then again, it could just be something they dreamt up which means nothing at all... like 'Snickers'. What's all that about? 'Marathon' was fine wasn't it? Oh well, such is life.
