Toby has decided to sleep on it :)
I don't dare disturb him as he's hiding from the bully Cleo.

How is Toby doing in general?
Does Cleo physically attack Toby? Merlin used to punch Frankie and he always looked as if he wanted to cry.

To answer both of you...Toby is about the same. Though I think he gets around a bit over night as I find tufts of fur in odd places. Like the big table at one end of my lounge. He was sleeping on it the other morning. He's still quite wary of me...but will roll on his back and give me that 'look'.
And yes, Cleo will jump at him. If I see that look in her eyes, I'll distract her. But sometimes she is flying out of nowhere. Sometimes I just want Toby to give her a smack...without doing damage.
He is probably moving around at night. If Cleo is with you at night he probably feels safe. Have you tried giving Cleo a stroke and then stroke Toby with her smell on you and vice versa?

On the few times I've barely touched him...once with a brush...he scooted away immediately. So actual stroking isn't really possible yet. I intend getting down on the floor near him again. I hadn't for a while as I'd mis judged my landing...and hit the floor and my tailbone with a hard thump.
I really envy those who take in street cats that adapt quickly...it's hard sometimes.
I wouldn't believe that street cats adapt quickly. Those that do were probably pets that got lost! He seems to be making progress, just keep on letting him know you are there but give him his space
If Toby rolls on his back in front of you,it means above all else that you are trusted! Our second one was half feral and never wanted a lap or a cuddle, but head dunts meant everything! It's a real honour that he feels safe with you:-)
