How about a book or CD that he'd like? Or maybe a pair of gloves or a scarf, winter is coming up so he might appreciate something like that.

Gift certificate from a bookshop?

A bottle of his favourite wine or tipple?

A book on the above (winde guide etc) or on cocktail making with a few ingredients? Or a mans cookbook?

If he doesn't like drinking or cooking, then hows about an Airfix model aeroplane from his boyhood days to make him smile!

How about a huge hug and tell him how much you love him. I lost my dad last year and oh do I wish I'd done that more often, sometimes it's the simplest things that can mean more than anything money can buy :-)

Virtually all men like gadgets and/or cars.
A gift voucher or credit note for Halfords, Dixons or
