How does the egg manage to get onboard the Sulaco which hatches in Alien 3??? The queen has to detach from her egg sack prior to chasing after Ripley....

I think this is an unanswered plot hole. There doesnt seem to be any explanation for this error, and it was just 'there'. If it wasnt, there would be no Alien 3!! Compared to some films this is quite a trivial mistake!

The Queen doesn't need the egg sack to produce eggs, it is just a store for them. Therefore she could have laid several eggs onboard the dropship or the Sulaco
