All those information pins in Google Earth

I'm sure they didn't used to be there in such great numbers. How do I get rid of all those information pins,please?
I want to see the ground. not all that writing. Have I clicked something by mistake?

At the bottom left there should be an option to untick some things such as roads etc.

Thanks,stevie21. I have now looked at that and find that most of those are unticked, so I guess it is just advertising ( a necessary evil)
