Just fancied a preprandial, warming sip of something on this cold, dank, dark, miserable day.
I have equal amounts of brandy and Stones green ginger wine, with a splash of lime cordial in it.
Just hits the spot.
Do any of you enjoy a little appetiser sometimes, what do you have?

The only spirit I touch in the house is Bailey's and then that's only if the missus makes Bailey's coffee.

Ooh Prudie, I’ve just checked and sainsburys have Crabbies Ginger Wine, have added it to my list. After using their alcoholic ginger beer in a dark and stormy, I’m sure I’ll love it.
Never been much of a fan of fevertree mixers, I tend to feel they’re over hyped and over priced. I’ve never had their ginger beer to be fair, so maybe I ought to try it, I do try to be open minded about stuff.
And that Kings Ginger looks the bees knees, pity it’s only available on line. Mind you, amazon has recently become my best friend (next to Google) so I may order some.

Not a fan of Baileys, but just love Amarula.
I like the fever trees both as mixers and soft drinks. I have no idea how they have done it but they are below sugar levy level without an artificial sweeteners. The ginger beer is particularly good

Sharon, I’ve tried many a slow gin but it just doesn’t do it for me. I always expect it to be a bit like a liqueur and then am disappointed when it’s not. I even made my own, it was horrible...but I drank it :)
Love a nice Baileys on ice ,yummm
Vagus, just wanted to say that since your comments I went and got some Crabbies alcoholic ginger beer and it makes for highly superior Dark and Stormies! I've been loving them throughout December. Thank you, Vagus.

I don't drink as much as I used to but if I have spirits (whisky, rum) I have a decent one with a drop of water, which seems to bring out the smell and flavour.
A good measure of Buffalo Trace bourbon with lots of ice.
Happy Christmas one and all !!
