I agreed with HFC bank to make reduced payments of 10 a month for 3 months whilst I had to go on carers allowance. They have taken and had the payments and now want to file a default notice on a credit ref agency even though they are getting paid. The letter states that if they receive more money a month then they wont put a default, but if my payments stay the same for 1 more month, they will Default me.

Is that allowed?

Short Answer: Yes - they can class you as defaulted one day after you have stopped paying the contractual monthly payment.
