Notional tax

I have received a number of shares instead of dividends Is it necessary to show the notional tax on a Short tax return or do I wait till I have actually sold the relevant shares ??

In the absence of any other answers, I would recommend you show it on your tax return. The notional tax sum is given on the paperwork for a reason. You don't wait 'til you have sold it because it is valued at the price when it is issued.
You show it on your tax return. You received the dividends and immediately bought shares with them in the eyes of the taxman.
