Do you know any old folk or herbal remedies?

I was watching a programme the other day and a lady said if you stew nettles and work them into a paste, you can then put the paste up where the sun doesnt shine to get rid of constipation! Do you know any other strange remedies or cures? Do they work???

I didnt phrase it right in the first place, some of the things you here about are mighty strange like nettles used to be used for toilet paper......Ouch
