We got an Asda delivery today, with at least half "unavailable" as we had to order it a month ago due to lack of slots...

It was all there when we ordered and gave payment details... do you think they should alter the stock, as people buy it? After all... you wouldn't go into the shop and start taking things out of other people's trollies, because you can't find it on the shelf... so why online?

Just seems rude! Lol.

yes pixie, ocado have no shops... In fact they aren't a grocery firm at all but a logistics firm. They got a massive kick up the jacksie at the beginning of first lockdown when their web platform failed horribly and I think that M and S (who now own part of them) had some fairly serious conversations with them. https://www.ocadogroup.com

Me too, maydup... and i know it isn't the end of the world. It is just a little frustrating how illogical it is, when it could work so much better.
Diddly, the reason I prefer it delivered, is that we have 5 people living here (including pregnant daughter) and order quite a lot, which we just need to put away.
If I go to a supermarket, you put it in the trolley, onto conveyor belt, back into trolley, into the car, into the house.... before you can put it away. I work full-time and have other things to do.... so the easier I can make grocery shopping (which i don't enjoy) the better.
I don't be same as Mamya. I also don't choose the early slots because sometimes the deliveries to customers go out before the deliveries too the shops have Comecon or been put on the shelves.

It seems, that the difficult is that they are the same thing often, apc.
Online, they are agreeing products to customers, while also allowing those to be bought by people in the shop. I hope that they will all separate them soon, so that whether you prefer to go in, or order, you have an equal chance of receiving what you are offering to pay for.
I may be misreading what you say Pixie, but if you order a few weeks before order date and the outlet stores your items then charges you and closes the order to amendments until delivery won't fresh goods have started to deteriorate?
Question Author
If they have nowhere to store them, mamya, yes. I have moved on now lol, to wanting them to get warehouses and treat online orders separately, so it makes q little sense and there is some reliability.
I just read my comment at 16.42. It looks as if I had had a few too many!

Pixie. Our Morrisons are now doing their own distribution and have expanded the shop space with really high shelves that customers can't reach. I must admit, it is actually better now than when it came from a central distribution warehouse area when a lot of items were not available. We do click and collect and the staff are quite willing to go and look at the shelves when things are missing.

Ok, thank you apc, I will certainly have a look for somewhere a little less frustrating x
