Just found a vid on youtube, dashcam journey titled Lauterbrunnen to Grindewald Switzerland 4k, it is the most stunning journey I've ever seen. I didn't know such a beautiful place existed. Defo on my bucket list if I could ever afford to go! Pales Blighty into insignifecance.

Go to setting and double the speed.

Beautiful country...the cleanest I have visited by a country mile.

Lucky to have been there royfromaus! One day, one day!
Beautiful, but no benches to admire the scenery.
very pretty, thanks Dagman and Mamya.

Wearing masks doesn't seem to be the national sport.
We stayed in Lauterbrunnen a few years ago, it is indeed a most beautiful part of the world.
Because of the time of year we were there, they were bringing the cows down from the high pastures and there are lots of processions with the cows horns all dressed in wild flowers with huge cow bells round their necks.
A very memorable holiday.
I first went to the Bernese Oberland in 1959 with the school scouts and absolutely fell in love with the place. When we had our first continental holiday as a married family that was the place I had to take them. Ten years later our finances had improved and we were able to afford to go again and again and again.....and then we started taking our young grandchildren. To me there is nowhere else that matches that region for its stunning scenery in such a compact area. It should carry a health warning because it's totally addictive.

I'm hooked! In my mind's eye, we're sitting at one of the outdoor cafs, coffee in hand, overlooking one of the breathtaking valleys. We've been to Hawaii, strolled on Waikiki beach, climbed Diamond Head, Las Vegas, lunch in the Grand Canyon, thought we'd seen the best but really ....
We sat on the terrace of a restaurant having lunch in the sun, almost within touching distance of the snow capped Eiger. And had an ice cream sundae in the revolving restaurant on the Schilthorn where one of the Bond movies was filmed.
The mountain railways and cable cars all link up with Swiss precision, we did a lot of walking while we were there, it truly is a beautiful area.
You’ve brought back a lot of lovely memories Dagman, thank you :)
If you catch the train from Kleine Scheidegg to the Jungfraujoch it stops part way up where there is a window out onto the north face of the Eiger - incredible views.
I’ve forgotten exactly where it was, but we went on a glacier and there was a warning sign at the top...a high heeled ladies shoe with a black line through it. We really laughed at it, and then realised why the sign was needed, a Japanese tour group arrived with the ladies wearing, yes, high heeled shoes!
Vagus - yes, I have a photo of that sign.
Ha ha, yes, we have a similar photo but on ours the ground is covered in ice and snow.
I did thoroughly enjoy the journey Dagman though I wished I could sit and stare a while.

Look at the wonderful memories it has evoked too.

Thank you.
