your nearest airport is Newcastle, reached by travelling to Newcastle Central then by Metro to the airport. However you cannot get there in time to catch the morning flight to Dublin (0750) and the evening flight lands you in Dublin at a rather inconvenient 2305 (ie gone midnight at your hotel).
Although it's further away a better bet for you is to go to Liverpool Airport. Carlisle to Liverpool South Parkway (the nearest station to the airport) takes 2h45mn approx; from Liverpool there are 4 flights to Dublin mon-fri and 3 at weekends.

Thanks mushroom :o) Ive figured an alternative. I live in essex anyway, but was going to see a friend in carlisle before flying to dublin. However sometimes return tickets London-carlisle are 33 pounds so I will just go to carlisle at a different time as dublin
