Hello everyone! Sorry to mention Christmas but I'm thinking of making some Christmas Booze to give as pressies! Does anyone know any xmas recipes that will be ready in time for xmas? Not too complicated though, but I'll try my hand at most things! Thanks in advance.

Limoncello?
Pared rind of 6 unwaxed lemons
1 bottle vodka (750ml)
250g granulated sugar
225ml water

Pare the rind from the lemons and put into a glass jar. Pour over half the vodka, seal and leave for 14 days.
On the 14th day, make a sugar syrup with water and sugar (heat gently until sugar dissolves, then simmer for 2-3 minutes). Cool completely. If you use it hot, the limoncello will be cloudy. Add the sugar syrup, the strained lemon vodka and the rest of the vodka, stir well, put into clean bottles and seal. Leave for a further 10 days, then it's ready for drinking.
Orange Liqueur:.
Put a one inch layer of shredded orange peel in a Kilner jar, sprinkle with sugar and keep tightly covered. Gradually build up the layers as you peel & eat your oranges until jar is half full. (The orange flavour from the peel will integrate with the sugar which will go slightly moist & sticky). Then fill the jar with the cheapest brandy you can find. Leave to infuse for a month/6 weeks and strain through muslin (or a giant clean handkerchief). Bottle off and you have a very acceptable sweet orange liqueur.
OOh! Wendy! that sounds lurvly. Maybe pinkiefriend can make my limoncello and your orange liqueur and give her chums a bottle of each. She'd be popular!
Elderberry Vodka. Collect 1lb elderberries from hedgerows, put in cleaned 2 litre pop bottle with 1 litre of cheapest vodka you can find plus 1lb sugar. Leave until nearly Christmas, shaking up occasionally, and then strain back into saved vodka bottle. Tastes good, and is relatively cheap. Tip - to get elderberries off the twigs, run a fork down the bunches.
