I was killing her softly with my song.
Seasons In The Sun by Terry Jacks, April 6th 1974, although it wasn't a particular favourite of mine. On that particular day, ABBA won Eurovision with Waterloo. We started our honeymoon with an overnight stay at The Midland Hotel, Manchester where I asked the waiter to buy a round of drinks for everyone in the lounge to celebrate our wedding. He said he wouldn't advise it as most of the guests were with an AA convention! So I paid for tea and coffee all round! A bit different eh? The next day, we were unable to leave central Manchester as the police had locked it down due to an IRA bomb scare at Victoria Station. Happy days!

Unforgetable, Bobbi. Unforgetable! Going way off topic, at some time, I must tell the story of The Day I went To Augusta, Georgia. I don't have the time but I could write a book about that week-end as we travelled from Florida, through Georgia and into South Carolina, then back again. Suffice to say, whenever I hear the song "Rainy Night In Georgia", I was that soldier!
