This week I received an email informing me that I had a reply to a question I had posted 3 months ago.
According to the question number some 60000 questions had been posted in the interim and I wonder how it was possible for my question to be still 'open' when only 36000 odd are currently 'open' ?

There seem to be a few problems with the 'subscribe to a question' facility.

More often than not, I get NO answers emailed, although I go back to the Question and can see that there are answers!

I think it got worse around the time of the recent changes to the site.

Thanks PB . The point that intrigued me was that the answer given was current (ie sent this week) and had not slipped through months ago. How would the respondent have had access to such an old question? K
You can access old questions in 3 ways I can think of:
1) through the 'Search the Site' facility
2) through 'My Profile' / 'Questions I'm involved in'
3) by bookmarking a question that interests you with the intention of returning to it at a later date

Your contributor probably fell into one of those categories.

Thanks for the explanations Gen2 .

I think it was probably No 3. K
Regarding your enquiry as to my Quiz, it will not be held until the first Friday in the month (in this case, 1st September). I am pleased to say that this month it will not take as long as normal - thanks to ABers (especially sarumite)

Thanks for asking. crofter
