mp3 player/digital camera conundrum

I have a cheap little digi cam; it has no pictures on it, but when I take a picture, it says "memory full". huh?
On a similar (possibly related) theme, my mp3 player has songs on it which do not show on the 'contents of portable device' list on Windows Media Player, so I have to delete them off the player 'manually', rather than highlighting and deleting off Media Player.
Does this ring any bells with anyone?

Can only advise with the camera, but even with expensive ones, the onboard memory is limited. I had one which only took 4 pics, and it needed an additional memory card to work effectively.
