I Don't Often Lose My Temper But 'inspirational Quotes' Make My Blood Boil

I am a member of several online forums - local history, genealogy and other interests/hobbies and more and more people are posting cartoonish pictures with so-called inspirational quotes such as 'Every minute is precious, make them count'; 'A mother's love is unconditional, unconditionally love yours'. It makes me want to hurl my computer through the window. Thankfully I am able to quickly hide the posts.

Am I alone in my irrational hatred of such sentimental guff or do some people find inspiration or comfort from them?

....and true.

Andy Hughes.
