Yes I am it seems a grumpy old man, but that aside I find myself more and more hating the telly, personalities, advertisements, smugness, lecturing, talent shows grrrrrrrrr.
Is there a cure or is it just a sign of age?

People saying, 'if I'm honest,' why wouldn't they be?
You could try listening to music that's what I do when there's nothing I want to watch on the box. I even play records sometimes! (Bit of a shock, my normally very savvy 30 year old son didn't know what a 78 was)
If you love TV ummm then not a problem. Personally getting rid of the thing has been one of the best things that I've done, so many more things to do.

I'm a great fan of AB and YouTube, spend a lot of time there, learn a lot.
Why don't you pop out and water the garden.
Saw a new "sponsor" advert today - this time for a penguin!

So that makes child, snow leopard, donkey, penguin - any more?

Any thing physical is beyond me these days.
Surely I have a soul mate on here?
Question Author
Oh yes, guilt trip adverts.
I'm selective about what I watch and can always find something to entertain me in the evenings - I rarely if ever turn the set on in the daytime.
I don't know what they have in mind for the penguin other than stop climate change, how they going to do that with our £3 per month I don't know, other than buy bags of ice cubes maybe. :0) :0)
What will be the next thing to sponsor? A worm?

A Remainer?
I hate it too, but I rather than get rid of it altogether, I just use it for watching good films or quality dramas.

Be more selective Theland, dont allow it to make you grumpy! Why don't you ....... something less boring instead.
Nailit - have the TV Licensing people ever been after you, refusing to believe you don't have a TV?
brainiac, yes they have. I ignore their letters and refuse to let them into my home. Used to fill in the online decleration stating that I dont watch live tv but still got the threatening letters so stopped doing that. Dont see why I should let strangers tramp around my home to prove that Im doing nothing wrong.
Good for you, nailit. If I was in your position I'd really enjoy giving them the runaround!
LOL ^^
Mine is usually on in the background and I sit at the computer with my back to it. I only turn round to watch certain things, couple of soaps, couple of quizzes, racing on a Saturday afternoon and if there is nothing of interest I go back to the old stand by of Big Bang Theory (watched them twice yesterday) or Escape to the Country. Tonight it has not been turned on at all. I come on here to catch up with the news(!) or if it is not kicking off on facebook. Would I miss it if it wasn't there? Yes I would!
Just had a thought, the only programme I would actually sit and watch was The Musketeers!
