Aah but xmas wouldn't be xmas without James Bond. I could sit and watch them all over and over again (yes you can call for the men in white coats now!!).

It's a Wonderful Life
Agree with WM about any 'Christmas Carol' film but I particularly like 'Scrooged' with Bill Murray
A Miracle on 34th Street

Forgot about the scrooge films. However my favorite scrooge without a doubt has to be Alistair Sim!
1. A Christmas Story - Jean Shepherd's narration and Darren McGavin's insane father are note-perfect. It's a joy from beginning to end.
2. The Ref - makes my family so much more bearable.
3. The Grinch - poor Max . . . pass the roast beast?

And in the stand-alone category of favorite lil' Dickens:
The Alistair Sims Christmas Carol! Was there ever a finer Christmas morning transformation?

1 - Muppets Christmas Carol
2- its a Wonderful Life
3 - Miracel on 34th Street

All guarenteed to make you feel warm and mushy.

All best watched with a glass of baileys and a mince pie I reckon!!
1. Bad Santa (encapsulates my feelings about Xmas rather nicely)
2. Scrooge (Alastair Sim...fantastic)
3. It's a Wonderful etc. (Predictable, but wonderful).
4. The Santa Clause 2 (joke)
Nobody has mentioned "The Snowman" yet...Also the short animated film voiced by Alaistair Sim and Michael Hordern of "A Chrismas Carol" is a delight and not seen on TV enough (if at all now).

Mine def has to be Santa Claus (the old film with the lollipops that make you float,), i love watching this every year at xmas since i was at primary school.
National lampoons christmas vacation. classic
Without a shadow of a doubt the best xmas movie is Santa Claus: The Movie, with Dudley Moore as the main elf. It's fantastic. It isn't christmas without this movie. I watch it every year without fail on Christmas Eve, and have done since I was a little kid.
I also like the Muppets Christmas Carol. And of course the first couple of Home Alone films. Not keen on the other Home Alone's - it's just not as good without Macaulay Culkin.
I like watching films that are set in winter or at christmas time, like While You Were Sleeping with Sandra Bullock. Narnia is good too as it's all snowy.
Yay, i can't wait for Christmas now - i love it. It's great when it's winter and you get all snuggly with big baggy jumpers and blankets, and drink hot chocolate out of a big mug......woo hoo!
muppets christmas carol. a christmas carol, the one with george c scottin it year 1984 the santa claus and the santa claus2,nightmare befor christmas. jingle all the way ,the grinch
Actually I need to add Polar Express, it's newish but it will be around in 20 years time I reckon.
