Steer clear of mackerel as you'll never shift it; it clings to everything. Otherwise, I like to cook fish in the oven as baked fish doesn't make the air reek in the first place. I agree, it's a horrible problem. Good luck!

Just pour a little vinegar in a saucer and leave it on a nearby worktop. I've done that with success every Friday morning - kippers! - for decades.

Open the windows if you can and don`t leave any leftover bits in the kitchen bin....straight off to the dustbin, well wrapped!

dont know about smell in the house - but to get it off your hands make a paste with a little english mustard powder and sugar and rub your hands with it - rinse and there you go - noe smelly hands - not even mustardy smell either!!
