Hi there!

Can anyone out there tell me if there are any supermarkets/nationwide shops where I could buy a pre-baked (vround or square) sponge cake - either fresh or frozen?

Thanks!

Hi Noweia,

Do you mean a plain sponge, without any cream, jam or flavouring i.e. coconut or lemon?

Hi tictactoe,

Preferably plain sponge with no icing or flavouring!
Not many supermarkets sell them plain. If you go to the in-store bakery section in one though, and ask one of the bakers if you can have a plain sponge (before they've added the jam/cream etc I am sure they will oblige.

Doesn't seem to be something that they sell, as most people I guess want the whole package!

Pastry cases and flan sponges are always easy to come by...

Hope I'm proved wrong, and that someone out there (here) knows differently!!

Curiousity...Do you need one, so you can decorate it yourself?
