Since Ryanair charge for carrying checked baggage, can we safely assume they are quite happy to make a fortune out of their customers in this situation?

but you are not allowed to bring liquids on to the flight (baby milk must be tasted to verify it is what you say it is) i wonder which airline will be the first to charge inflated prices for drinks?

the imposition of heightened security measures (and QED whether one gets blown to bits or not) is not my issue here, I don't think anyone could complain about anything designed to reduce the risk to travellers.

my issue is that now hand baggage cannot be carried, all items have to be checked; Ryanair make a charge for checked baggage, and they make a bigger charge for anyone who hasn't pre-declared checked baggage. So anyone turning up today who was intending to fly with hand baggage only gets hooked for a charge that would otherwise have been unnecessary. To me that's blatant profiterering, particularly since some other low-cost carriers have announced a suspension of baggage charges.

having just flown with ryan air from spain this week, they were charging loads of travellers with excess baggage charges (me included) for being over their new luggage weight rules. they were charging 8 euros for every kilo over the allowance, and as you have no way of knowing the weight of your suticase until you go to check in - they catch loads of people out. so they will now be quids in with everyone having to put all their hand luggage into their suitcases.

I believe Ryanair cancelled all their flights today so the question doesn't arise - yet.

Yes I believe that Ryanair is happy to make a fortune out of its customers. All they care about is making money. Screw everything else. If things go wrong with Ryanair you're ******.
