I'm thinking of getting a tattoo and would love one before I go on holiday in 2 weeks - this is so I can actually show it off, is it safe enough to get done before you go abroad?

You will need to wait until it is fully healed to show it off which maytake more than two weeks, also you shoild keep it out of direct sunlight for a good few weeks, so I wouls say it is better to wait untill you return from your holidays,
yes but you cannot swim for at least 2 weeks after you have had it done and need to keep it out of the sunlight. so if you are intending to have one done it might be best to wait until you get back

Thanks guys I think I'll take ur advice. ;-)
Take mine. Don't get it done! As Ozzy Osbourne said 'if you want to be different, don't get a tatoo' !!!!!
Hi there Zammo,

I wouldn't recommend it. You shouldnt swim after a tattoo for a month (to be safe) and the scabbing won't go until after about 3 weeks.

If you do decide to get one, you always need to put total block on it if you're in the sun.

kind regards
Dan
