'A nice long break without parliament nor government imposing more unwanted restrictions and obligations on the people ? I don't know, I think some nations have gone without parliament for extended periods and seem none the worse for it. As long as it wasn't a regular event may well be beneficial.'

You haven't answered the crux of my question there, OG. The question is, when faced with something which looks like it might not go the PM's way, would you be happy for Parliament to be prorogued to avoid this happening?
What do you think would be the consequences of parliament being suspended for weeks or months would be?

Apologies for the mangled English.
The fact that proroguing in this way is unlawful is why it has not been attempted since 1831.

We have been unlucky to have a Prime Minister who has constantly said he will ignore or break the law, and an Attorney General giving out bad advice. Truth is, this current Government is both amateur and arrogant - a bad combination.
