I would like to hatch some hen's eggs but the hens I have are rather randomly broody. I was therefore thinking of buying an incubator, but as I don't plan to hatch eggs very often, I don't want to spend a lot of money and the cheapest I've found is 40. Does anyone have any suggestions about where I might find one for say around 15? I've tried ebay and the cheapest I can get is from the states for 25. Thanks.

I remember my granpa incubated hens eggs in a home made incubator. It was just a wooden box with a light bulb fitted in it to supply the heat. If you google images "chicken incubators" you will see some ideas of diy incubators.

How about trying a seed propagator. They are quite cheap (sic!) to buy and run.
