This was a very neat puzzle and, mercifully, the clues were far easier than last week's puzzle. Nevertheless, there were some tricky clues...

The endgame was clear and unambiguous. Thanks to Harribobs -- I enjoyed it and may even be brave enough to attempt the ideal solution!

Excellent puzzle with a tidy endgame which was much easier than I feared. A masterpiece of grid construction which I enjoyed enormously.

Good luck with the ideal solution to those who attempt it. I wimped out and went for the textual version!

Lovely puzzle - Harribobs is becoming one of my favourite setters.

Nice clues (with some cutely generated extra letters) and a grid construction that was both challenging to fill in and (once the penny dropped) quite awe-inspiring.

I may get the multi-coloured Sharpies out later - it will probably be less painful than watching the cricket ...

Thanks again to Harribobs.
A great composition with elegant clues and well hidden extra letters.

Thanks Harribobs.
I forgot to mention how neatly the extra letters were generated. They were well hidden, but unambiguous once found. Sometimes I've had almost half the letters of the alphabet tentatively written next to clues of this type, which I find fiddly and annoying. The way Harribobs has done it should be an example to all.
A nice, meaty puzzle. Progress was hindered by two quite justifiable (to me) errors in the lower half. Good cluing, and the combination of extracting letters and reversing created a beautiful maze. Thanks, Harribobs
Wasn't quite sure of the justification for the reversals, except to help the final construction, and some wordplay eludes, but a very nice excuse to sharpen up the crayons. Elegant puzzle
A lovely puzzle to do. My rendition of the resplendent long-tailed tropical bird in miniature looks more like a 5-year-old's effort at drawing a sparrow!
