novice status?

Hi everyone, whilst things are relatively quiet,can you please tell me for how long I will need to retain my 'green handle' and when I may be granted the honour of a fully fledged 'black belt' member of AB? I only signed in for the first time about a week ago.

I believe you keep your green belt for two weeks - but it doesn't affect how helpful everyone is!

Thanks ageing fast - it's a brilliant site and I only wish that I had discovered it sooner. Only trouble is, the temptation will always be there now to take the easy option when stuck on a difficult clue, rather than fully exercise the old grey matter!
