I need to borrow about £7000 as I am getting married but my credit rating is a little poor, No defaults or CCJ’s or anything, Just late payments here and there. I have had a few personal loans with Abbey/Santander in the past which were all paid off successfully and on time but they have refused my latest application. Does anyone know a lender that takes into account things situations such as mine rather than the “computer says no” attitude?

Have you approached your own bank?
You're late payer, no lender will like that, they'll assume you'll always be a later payer and they won't want the hassle of chasing you up all the time, it's almost as bad as a non payer. You won't get anyone to lend you 7k part from the local gangsters. You may get a smaller loan from someone like provident at a squillion percent.
Have you tried Zopa?

is it worth starting your married life with this debt - should you not just tailor your wedding to fit your budget?
